there’s no backing out!

it’s already 7pm and I should be heading home. I was so tired from all the tasks today. The rain’s pouring down, I can’t get home.

At around 7:30, I went down the building to see if i can be on attack mode in case the rain calms down. I was soooooooooo wrong, I backed out. I went back to the room with Pau and Marc.

At 8pm, I rushed to the car with Marc and dropped him off somewhere in Mendiola. Traffic’s heavy from Max’s. Dad called earlier and told me not to take the usual Sampaloc route coz it’s probably submerged in floodwater. Take Aurora (Sta. Mesa) then Araneta Ave instead.

Traffic’s not moving, I was already at Aurora Blvd. No choice but to go straight. I was sending some buncha text messages to my friends until my phone’s battery went low. texting didn’t last long. it sucked.
Before getting to Pureza, I finally knew why the traffic’s bad… floodwaters. at the end of all the traffic TaBY and I have gone through, we didn’t have a choice but to make sugod the baha. There’s no backing out with all the cars surrounding us, we had to cross the flooded street. The bus was such a bully, speeding on flood. Good thing TaBY’s windows were closed.

For Taby, it probably felt like miles. I was almost crying and I was chanting to Taby, “Konti na lang“, “Don’t give up” and “Kaya naten ito!”. After probably 300 meters (layo, d ba?), we found higher grounds!

After crossing the busy intersection, there was another traffic buildup. A few cars have turned on their hazard lights on the left side. We were moving forward and we finally saw the scene… another flooded section. This time, I was singing “The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead” (Crashtest Dummies) while talking to TaBY. We freakin’ survived! Those nicer and newer cars sucked! LOSERS!

TaBY brought me home safe and dry at around 9:30pm. Gave him some rest while I dug my teeth on some sumptuous chicken barbeque from Aristocrat!

change ratings!

Well, I just wrote my blog while I was working last Saturday. After work, I met up with my hon and we proceeded to Greenbelt 3 to watch again the transformers movie.I really cant help it. It’s like an addiction.  A movie with a “kilig” factor. I am still so amazed with it. I’m adding another point for my rating, making it a 10. Just perfect!

Unfortunately, we had to wait hmmm… probably 3 hours for the movie. all the earlier showtimes are full. We didn’t mind, our movie is free this time. :)

We just spent money and time in greenbelt 3. Had dinner at Casa Armas and sort of killed time there. Service is superb, we were well-taken care of. We ordered Paella which is good for 3 (they said it was good for 2). I had a chorizo bocadillo (spanish sausage sandwich), and a tapas platter composed to jamon serrano, chorizos (again) and cheese (“Q” for Ques-O!).

I guess their paella  beats our #1 which is at Alba’s. Sorry, Señor Alba, paella buffet quality on an electric hot plate goes next after an authentic  paella on a paellera which has always been kept hot with some magic underneath the paellera. The waiters at Casa Armas informed us beforehand that it will take 30 minutes for them to serve the nice dish. The moment we sat down, they already asked us if we’re ordering paella.
For our previous experience at Casa Armas a year ago,  the restaurant still has a good rating for us. we will definitely come back for their paella or maybe just for an authentic Spanish feel.

For dessert, we had some ice cream at Cold Rock. I had the boysenberry thingee (which has actually raspberries-I LOVE!). my hon had bubblegum ice cream which had some weird stuff he requested like marshmallows and a cherry choco bar. the price of 2 small cups (their regular size) is equal to the price of 1 gallon of selecta ice cream. grrrr! i tried their ice cream twice or thrice already but after working with a smaller salary (i work for the gov’t), i think their price is outrageous!
oh, by the way, i just finished my orange peel chocolates.  Leonida’s make really goooooood ones but you can only buy a few pieces for P400. Marks and Spencer sells it by the box, which is a good buy. :)   I still need to make a few adjustments on mine.
